This specification covers nominal (average) walled pipe almost exclusively in seamless. Several grades of ferritic steel are included. Some product sizes may not be available under this specification because heavier wall thicknesses have an adverse effect on low-temperature impact properties.

Notes for Bend Test
Bei Rohren, deren Durchmesser NPS 25 übersteigt und deren Verhältnis von Durchmesser zu Wandstärke 7.0 oder weniger beträgt, muss der Biegetest anstelle des Abflachungstests durchgeführt werden.
Andere Rohre, deren Durchmesser NPS 10 oder mehr beträgt, können vorbehaltlich der Zustimmung des Käufers anstelle des Abflachungstests dem Biegetest unterzogen werden.
Die Biegeprüfkörper müssen bei Raumtemperatur um 180 gebogen werden, ohne dass an der Außenseite des gebogenen Teils Risse entstehen.
